Hi, I'm Dex.
I've been trading for 12 years, across forex, equities, options, gold and silver. I found some consistency once I settled into prop firms and live NQ futures.
When I was new to prop firms I felt lost. The rules were spread across too many pages, and the codes and offers kept moving. I built this site so I could keep up with them in one place, and so you could look at the rules before you look at the price.
The codes help pay for the tools that run the site. If you use one, it helps me keep the comparison updated. I still list firms that don't pay me.
I also keep notes from traders I follow, with their rules and a few of their quotes, on the Learn page. They were useful to me while I was finding my feet, and I hope they're useful to you.
How I trade
I keep the chart fairly simple. I use the 8, 13, 21 and 200 EMAs, plus a VWAP band at 1 standard deviation. I look for bull flags, bear flags, momentum and breakouts, and I trade them level to level.
I don't trade news days, and I seldom trade Fridays if I can help it. I leave chop alone. If I take two losses in a row, I'm done for the day, and I wait for the next setup instead of forcing one.
The discipline I want in a session is the same discipline I need outside of trading. When that slips, the trading usually follows, so I try to look after it first.
How I compare firms
The firms on the table are the eight I recommend, plus FTMO Futures and Topstep. I read each firm's own page when I can. If two numbers disagree, I keep both, and I leave sale prices off the sticker so the row shows the list price.
